Treatments
Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy causes veins to collapse and disappear by injecting a solution directly into the vein with a micro needle. Treatments feel like small needle pricks with a mild burning or itching sensation. The majority of people who have sclerotherapy will see good improvement. You may need anywhere from one to several sessions per vein region. Bruising and pigmentation may appear after Sclerotherapy. Bruising can last anywhere from 1-2 weeks. Pigmentation may last for several months. Scarring and other complications are rare.
Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy
This is a treatment alternative to surgical stripping. The solution injected is monitored on an ultrasound screen which enables treatment of veins that are below the skin and can't be seen.
Endovenous Laser Treatment
This procedure uses light waves to eliminate a large range of varicose vein sizes. The laser is inserted thru a needle stick info the skin. This is an in office procedure performed under local anesthesia. Endovenous Laser Treatment is FDA approved for the treatment of the greater Saphenous vein.
Ambulatory Phlebectomy
Under local anesthesia small incisions are made and the vein is removed. This is used to treat surface varicose veins.
Compression Stockings
Medical compression is used after all treatments performed for venous disease. It is also used to reduce swelling and ulcers.
