Botulinum Toxin, or Botox®, is a medication which relaxes the muscle. Botox® has been widely used since 1991 for the treatment of neurologic and ophthalmologic conditions, and more recently, it has been approved for the reduction of wrinkles. Botox® cosmetic is the only treatment approved by the FDA for the temporary relief of moderate to severe frown lines.
